Suma Mudan is the founder of Sama-Tulaa Yoga. She has been an on the mat and off for several years, before she finally dedicated herself to her passion – yoga for self healing. Back in the day, when she was suffering from a chronic illness, yoga was the only one that helped her recover, and get rid of her dependence on pain-killers. She had a successful tax law practice, but decided it’s time to dip into the wealth and wisdom of ancient seers, and share what she has experienced with anyone who is in need of such healing.

Suma first studied yoga practice and philosophy under Swami Vishnu Devananda, a senior disciple of Swami Sivananda (a pioneer medical doctor turned yogi during the early part of the century). She did her teachers training and advanced teachers training from the Sivananda Ashram in Kerala, india and spent several years teaching yoga in India. She moved to the United States in early 90s and got busy with her tax career. She recently completed yet another teachers training with Lex Gillan at the Yoga Institute in Houston. Her passion is to continue to learn and train about the therapeutic values of yoga.

Suma also studied Indian philosophy (Vedanta) under a world renowned Teacher and philosopher, Swami Dayananda Saraswati. She strongly believes that yoga, when combined with the right knowledge, and healthy life style, is a complete system for the total well-being of a person.
